Happy 2013 and a brand new year is waiting for us to fulfill!

From our long to do list of this year, we present you the freshly harvested collections from Upper Hutt City Library. Over time, they have provided us with increasing amounts of content. Digital NZ is now proudly pointing to both the Newspaper Archive collection and Heritage Collection - adding up to over 70,000 items in total. 20,000 new items brought in are available for sharing and remix under a Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial licence

The Newspaper Archive collection sports The Leader which is the longest running community newspaper in Upper Hutt. It contains 48,901 records from the digitised papers of 1939 to 1964.

The entire Upper Hutt Heritage Collection is a valuable and rich resource. Items demonstrate not just the city as it was, but community events and the people who lived there. This record of their unique yet typical kiwi life reminds us again how lucky we are be able to find, share and use historical content online.
