Description

This dress was made by Beverley Gordine for Mrs Velma Turner. The dress was made from a sari given to Mrs Turner by her Indian husband as a wedding present and is a beautiful example of Indian fabric used in Western fashion, which was popular in the 1960s. Beverley Gordine (1934 - 2015) had been apprenticed (in those days it was for five years) to Alice L.
