Description

Four lines of writing of a postal address, with the head of King Matutaera at the left. The address is "Kia Meteputu / Kei Putiki Waranui / Wahi Whanganui" King Matutaera was Tawhiao who became the second Maori king in 1860. May be dated 1860 or after, as that is the year in which Matutaera Tawhiao became the second Maori king. However, it is thought that most of the images in this album predate 1860, and the king may in fact be Te Wherowhero, Potatau, d 1860. Rev Taylor wrote some of the an...
