Shows steerage passengers seated at long tressle tables, eating dinner. There are bunks to each side. The first immigrant ship to arrive in New Zealand was the Aurora A copy of a wood engraving 'Emigrants at dinner' published in the Illustrated London news, 13 April 1844, p. 229. The 'Emigrants at dinner' in the Illustrated London news were heading for Sydney, not for Wellington. The republication in 1890 of this wood engraving has altered the details
