Description

A scene in the bush showing a thatched hut with two men standing outside. The men are probably soldiers under the command of General Cameron, whose troops built the military road in the Waikato in 1863. To the right of the hut a woman stands by two lines of washing. Taken by William Temple circa 1860s. Exhibited in 'Darling, I'm Home!' exhibition at the National Library of New Zealand, 1 June - 5 July 1999. Quantity: 1 b&w original negative(s).
