A view from above and behind Captain Thomas McDonnell's home at Horeke, Hokianga during the festivities associated with the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. Shows the front garden with six cannon, fences, buildings, a large crowd, 3 flags on flagpoles, many canoes drawn up at the water's edge, the Hokianga River and the hills beyond. The Treaty was signed at Mangungu on 12 February 1840 and this feast took place on 13 February about 2 km east of Mangungu. McDonnell's establishment was us...
