Head and shoulders portrait of Tamihana Te Rauparaha, painted in London. He is wearing a cravat and European suit in pale grey. Unsigned but titled in Angas' hand with pencilled note 'civilized and christianized New Zealand chief.' Cf the full length portrait at C-114-001 Likely to have been painted in London in 1852, when both Tamihana te Rauparaha and Angas were there.
