"D" class steam locomotive, New Zealand Railways no 197, 2-4-0T type. There are four unidentified railway workmen standing beside the engine. Photographed at Lower Hutt in 1906 by A P Godber. Almost identical to image at APG-0312-1/2, which gives location and date in album at Pa1-q-101 (Godber Album vol 108, p 75) "D" 197, a D class steam locomotive, was built by Neilson & Co., Glasgow (maker's no 1844/74), went into service on 5 April 1879 and was written off in 1916.
