Description

"Josephine" steam locomotive (0-4-4-0T type). Interior view of the cab. Photographed by Albert Percy Godber, circa 1925. 'Josephine' was a A "Fairlie" locomotive built by Vulcan Foundry, Newton-le-Willows. Brought to New Zealand in 1872, and used by the Dunedin and Port Chalmers Railway Company until 1876 when it was taken into stock by New Zealand Railways and classified "E"175.
