Description

Head and shoulders portraits of a bearded Maori man (on the left) and of a young Maori boy. Both have ear adornments and hair in a topknot and the older man has a flax garment beneath his chest. Piron visited New Zealand in 1793 under the command of Bruny d'Entrecasteaux.
