A group of people proceeding along a road using alternatives to cars, probably because of 'carless days'. The alternatives include roller skates, a go-cart, a scooter and a horse. A superior-looking man on a modern bicycle is looking critically at an older man on an old-style cycle. The older man is defending his choice of transport and admitting that he last rode his cycle in 1936 There is also a self-portrait of the cartoonist in the bottom right corner.
