Upper Hutt Sub Centre WWSA Mechanical Transport Wing. Personnel named on reverse and on attached label. Left to right; Mrs Hyslop, Mrs Jessie Gething, Miss Betty Hickson, Mrs Jessie Munn (nee Benge), Mrs Peter Robertson (the mayor's widow), Sergeant-Major Vic Calder, Miss Raikes, Mrs Evison, Miss Tompkins, Mrs S King (nee Watt). Peter Robertson died in May 1939. The WWSA was established in 1940; the canteen section reached 20 000, clerical 10 000 and transport 5000.
