Caption: Damin Workman takes the plunge during Saturday's Spring into the Swing Festival at the giant pole swing at Te Marua. Damin, who thrilled onlookers with his mid-air twists and rolls, said he had jumped from the giant pole around 20 times, and still loved doing it. As well as the chance to try out the swing for themselves, the public were treated to a variety of stalls and activities, and a hangi lunch. One of three photos printed in colour in the ‘Leader’ on September 16, 1998; the others are not in 'Recollect'.
