Description

This 2000 Labour leaflet shows MP Luamanuvao Winnie Laban, who became New Zealand's first Pacific Island woman MP when she entered Parliament as a list MP in 1999. She later served as MP for the Mana electorate, near Wellington, until her resignation in 2010. Laban was born in New Zealand to Samoan-born parents.
