Thursday March 4, 1982. Miss Margaret Malcolm made history today. She got the top job at Wellington Teachers' College. She will leave her post of vice-president of the Palmerston North Teachers' College at the end of this term to become Principal at Wellington. She will be the first woman to head a New Zealand Teachers' College, where 77 percent of the students are women.
