Description

Since 2009, a total of 26 endangered kokako have been transferred to Ark in the Park from Pureora Forest Park and Tiritiri Matangi Island. The first chicks were born last year - six chicks in total. This year, we went in search of chicks and discovered a 20 day old chick that our contract ecologist named after himself - 'Andi'. A feather was taken from the chick, so we will conduct a DNA analysis to confirm its gender in the next few weeks.
