Mid summer on Dome Ridge, one of the peaks of Mount Ruapehu. The mountain is an active volcano in Tongariro National Park, and the highest point in New Zealand's North Island. This view is looking east and north over the Rangipo Desert, Kaimanawa Mountains, and the summit plateau. A two-photo stitch using HUGIN software.
