- Description
A metal flat iron, made by Shacklock weighing 16 pounds. It would have been heated on top of a coal range before use. This particular one was used by Mataura tailor, R. Coltherd, who operated his shop in Bridge Street from 1929 until 1950. During World War Two the iron was given to a local dress maker Miss Vera Dickie.
