Description

Te utuao. Kite. This kite is constructed with a frame of te kaibara (pandanus aerial roots) covered over by baa ni kaina (pandanus leaf fibre), folded and 'sewn' into place with te kora (coconut sennit). The kite is wide and light weight, shaped like an eitei (frigate bird) with additional attachments of a triangular head and forked tail which are both constructed in the same manner as the main body.
