Description

These are very poor quality photos because they are extreme crops out of much larger photos of a bittern a long way away. Nevertheless they are my first shots of a wild bittern so I will post them until I can get better ones. Taken at Bexley wetlands in Christchurch. The wetlands are surrounded by houses - most of them now empty and abandoned because of the earthquakes - hence the houses in the background of some of these pictures.
