Peter Gossage

A DigitalNZ Story by Fiona

In memory of Peter Gossage who died today. My sons adore his books and my oldest, Hugo, knows many of them by heart. They love his vivid imagery and his concise re-telling of Maori myths and legends make them regulars on our story-time book rota. Whenever we travel in the North Island we talk about the Battle of the Mountains, pointing out the feisty maunga and imagining them throwing their tantrums over fair Pīhanga. We'll be reading several of his books at story-time tonight.
