Description

A de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver aircraft (centre), one of the two aircraft used during the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition training camp on the Tasman Glacier. Both aircraft were specially modified for polar conditions. Possibly Mr R. W. Jamieson (left), assistant general manager of the de Havilland Company in New Zealand, who piloted the plane during its test flight.
