Although the harbour Bridge Bill passed through the House of Parliament in September 1931 - construction did not commence in 1932 as predicted. Here is a copy of the proposed plan for an Auckland Harbour Bridge from Fanshawe Street, on the city side of the harbour, to Northcote Point (No. 3) indicated by the line across the photo.
