Description

Ceremony for the handing over of the Colours of the 58th (Rutland) Regiment, to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Held on November 13th, 1932. In 1845, the 58th Regiment was sent to the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. The regiment remained in N.Z. until November 1858, seeing battle during the Northern Wars, Wanganui and north of Wellington (1845–47).
