This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 07 July 1961 "Eight debutantes proudly display their tartan sashes as a colourful contrast to their strikingly styled gowns of satins and laces before the presentation at the Astoria Ballroom. they are (from the left): Back row, Misses Kay Murray, Margaret Perry, Noeline Mitchell, Gloria McDermott and Gail Timmins. Front row: Jennifer, Jillian and Judith Douglass."
