Description

An exterior view of the Ventnor Private Hotel at 5 King Edward Parade, Devonport showing the south side of the building from the street. The original kauri house was destroyed by fire, rumoured to be started by a defaulting guest. This plastered brick replacement was built in 1914 and features parallel two-storey wings with a connecting reception area and courtyard garden.
