Description

Crane atop the steel structure that will form the northern anchorage of the Auckland Harbour Bridge. The cliff face at the southern end of Northcote Point is Waitemata sandstone. Taken from a vessel (possibly a Birkenhead ferry) in Little Shoal Bay. On the distant shore are the cranes and ships of the Auckland waterfront. View is towards the southeast. Scanned from original 1957 print owned by Elizabeth Lancaster.
