Description

View of the Waikato War memorial in the Pokeno cemetery, 5 July 1925. This cairn, constructed of Oamaru stone, was erected in 1902 to mark the last resting place of the soldiers who had fallen during the war and were buried in the cemetery. The pyramid-shaped memorial incorporated large marble panels on two sides inscribed with the names of the soldiers honoured.
