A market garden on the south-eastern side of Māngere Mountain, 1956. (Plate no. LIV in Donald Hunt's MA thesis, 'Market Gardening in Metropolitan Auckland', University of New Zealand, 1956. Captioned: "Māngere Mountain's Shadow: In the late afternoon, particularly during the winter months, Māngere Mt. casts a shadow across some areas of vegetable land. Such areas tend to be somewhat colder and are usually devoted to cabbages and cauliflowers rather than salad crops.")
