View of F. Douglas (Doug) Mill's G-NZAT Moth at Māngere, where people have gathered to await the arrival of the Australian aviator, Charles Kingsford Smith. (On 11 September 1928 Kingsford Smith and his crew landed at Wigram Airport in Christchurch on the first successful Trans-Tasman flight. They subsequently undertook a tour of New Zealand, during which they landed at Māngere for the first time on 19 September 1928.)
