Description

An outcropping coal seam near Huntly, Waikato, Auckland. Coal is showing in the outcrop from within one inch of the top of the picture, and the seam extends several yards below where the man is standing in the foreground. The thickness of the seam is not definitely known, but is estimated to be over 40 feet.
