- Description
Descendants of Wairoa marae standing in front of the first Kahu wharenui. This wharenui was built in 1894 by Te Mete Raukawa. The wharenui was pulled down and another built in the late 1980’s. The second tupuna whare was burnt down and the replacement was named Kahutapu which opened in the early 1990’s.
