This is a Womens Division Federated Farmers tea towel. In 1925, 16 farmers wives who were attending a Farmers' Union afternoon tea in Wellington, identified the need for their own support organisation. In recognition of the isolation of working long hours alone with few household amenities, and little opportunity for contact with others, the inaugural meeting of the Women's Division of the Federated Farmers took place in July 1925.
