Description

A large copper tub or cauldron that would be supported by a brick surround which had a wood fire underneath to heat water. The hot water would be used for washing household linen and clothes. Purchased by Dan and Lena Bowmar ( married 1899). In good condition. History of this particular object found in Bowmar Family archives. eHive number 16-199.
