Description

During the 1880 voyage from England to New Zealand the albatross landed and died on the deck of the ship. Dr. Frederick Everard Hunt, the ships doctor, acquired the skull and beak and it has been in the family ever since. Dr. Hunt was on board with his wife and 7 children and sadly one child (Mary Cecilia Hunt) died onboard of scarlet fever. ...
