In 2013 the Huntly Lions Club erected a substantial model poppet head and a memorial stone (pictured) to the 43 victims of the mine explosion at Ralph's Mine in Huntly, on 12 September 1914. It was erected near the original memorial plaque that was set into the wall of the new town hall (built 1927). The poppet head and the new plaque were unveiled on 13 September 2014, the day after the centennial of the disaster. A notice (pictured), pertaining to the disaster was placed near the memorial. ...
