Designing search results on DigitalNZ

Posted on 17 November 2023 by Kelly

We've been busy behind the scenes making a few front-end design changes to DigitalNZ in response to recent user testing. The changes are focused on the design and presentation of search results.

One key changes is that user stories are now easily identifiable in search results.

And users can now choose to view search results as the traditional tile view, or as a list view which shows more of the description text on the search results page.

And we have introduced paginated search results. Bookmark or share the URL to save a particular page of search results, eg. https://digitalnz.org/records?text=wellington%20wind%20&page=10 takes you to page 3 of results for the search 'wellington wind'.

Happy searching!
