DREDGING- IN SOUTH AMERICA.—These three photographs show the region where the San Juan de Oro claims are situated, on a river of like name in Bolivia. The claims havo recently been the cause of ■■mmATiha losses to Argentine speculators. The shares were floated at £1, and rushed up before the dredges turned! a wheel to £i per share. The dredges so far have never got gold enough to pay for the oil, much less the fuel. From reports received from Messrs Cutten, Faithful, and others, it now appears the borings were all "salted." The first and second views represent No. 1 company's claim, chredgie, -and driller. In No. 3 is seen the dredge and claim of No 2 company. The arrow points due north.
