Description

This shows Maud Herd sitting in horse and gig on the road near her father's Karamu Road farm, Hastings. It was taken on the afternoon of Christmas Day on a drive back Tukituki Valley. The horse's name is Judy. It was the first of 18 photographs taken by Leslie Adkin, Maud's fiance, during his holiday with the Herd family, 24-29 December 1914.
