Description

This shows Maud Herd sitting in a rowing boat. Leslie Adkin's foot is in the bottom right corner of the frame. This is the eleveth of 18 photographs taken by Leslie Adkin, Maud's fiance, during his six-day holiday in Hastings with here family, 24-29 December 1914. After they watched Napier's Mardi Gras parade, Maud and Leslie spent five hours rowing and drifing on the Tutaekrui River, near the town.
