Lydekker^s "Tho Deer of All Lands." Numerous reports have been received of late of the enormous increase .of deer on Stewart Island, a sanctuary for our glorious native birds, and, on-account of its'wonderful flora, a paradise of the.rarest scenic beauty. This increase is mainly accounted for in :'/.ilhe.Virginian deer, which may certainly beclassed as "100 per cent.
