Snort and General, i'hoto. The progress of British artificial silk was remarkably displayed at the Artificial Silk Exhibition, which opened at Olympia, London, on 21st January, when original spring fashions, revealing clinging textures and subtly-blended colours were shown by beautiful mannequins. The photograph shows a delightful quartet of evening gowns at the exhibition. The fashions are here shown, from left to right: Artificial silk ninon in hugo floral'design, depicting the bare shoulder vogue and side draperies, is shown first. Crepe Romaine comprises the second model in an old-world picture design, with bouffant skirt and bows. The third model is of satin Royeuso, and is very striking, with its pointed draperies and one shoulder strap, while artificial silk and cotton Is used for the fourth model, featuring long scarf ends-from the middle of tho back; (Evening Post, 02 March 1929)
