Description

Ann Robinson created this vessel while she was working as a glassblower at Sunbeam Glassworks during the 1980s. Her use of the gourd shape and the leaf-like decoration on the vessel's surface adds a New Zealand character to the work, unusual for blown glass at that time. Ann Robinson studied glassblowing at Auckland's Elam School of Fine Arts in 1980. She then joined glassblowers John Croucher and Garry Nash in founding Sunbeam Glassworks, one of New Zealand's early glass studios, in 1981. ...
