Description

This incised boab nut was transformed into an artwork by 'Flash Jack' Barrymore of Derby, West Kimberley, Western Australia. The three images depict:- a painted Aboriginal Australian dancer wearing a conical dancing hat- a painted Aboriginal Australian dancer wearing armbands and wooden hairpins in his headband. He carries a staff divided by transverse bands of ochre in his right hand, and in his left, a short stick or club- a kangaroo or wallaby standing alert, listening for possible danger.
