Description

Studio portrait of a young Maori boy with a bolt of cloth tied diagonally across his body (in bandalier fashion). He holds a spear, possibly Polynesian or Mealnesian in origin rather than Maori, and wears two long tail feathers from the Koekoea or Long-tailed Cuckoo, in his hair.
