Description

The CEO of the Disabled Persons Assembly reports on the negotiations that took place at the UN in New York at the end of Aug 2006, to decide on the text that would be presented to the UN General Assembly for adoption as the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Explains that now that agreement has been reached, governments have a duty to enable disabled people to realise their rights.
