Description

Determines, by examination of stomach contents, the diet of 98 ship rats (Rattus rattus) trapped as bycatch in stoat traps from Jun-Dec 2006 in the Dart Valley near Lake Wakatipu after a Nothofagus beech mast. Relates the food resources being used by the ship rats to the nesting periods of birds that are vulnerable to predation by the rats.
