Argues that the concept of whakawhanaungatanga is an indigenous networking tool that has application in research, education, business, health, social and indigenous community development. Utilises a Māori community research project as a case study to emphasise methods and theoretical perspectives and to provide examples of how whakawhanaungatanga as a concept enhances the research process with Māori .
