Suggests that the interface between Western science and indigenous knowledge be reframed to permit greater freedom of exchange regarding notions of science and knowledge, and to reflect on the nature and extent of scientific philosophy embedded in indigenous, and particularly Māori, knowledge creation. Discusses briefly two new and distinct educational initiatives that draw on Māori knowledge and a physics paradigm.
