Description

View through a gap in native bush in the foreground to houses and a church, with bush on the far side of the settlement. A small stream and a bridge can also be seen. Date of 1870s sugggested, since the artist's marriage in 1870 gave her Masterton connections. Described in McArthur's catalogue as View of Masterton but wrongly ascribed to Charles Johnston Pharazyn, husband of the artist. Inscriptions: Recto - bottom right - F. M
